The subtle clues and foreshadowing in this game created a really cool story! I love unique ideas like this!

I really liked this concept! It brings me back to those point-n-click horror games. It mostly reminds me of when I used to have my janky computer and the graphics would look exactly like this! I loved how when you clicked on the map marker it gives you a description of the location only to find some hidden meaning or corrupted data. I don't know something with technology failing us and giving us mixed signals, error pop-ups, and distorted text gives me the creeps!

Gameplay-wise, it is pretty simple you go to the location, read the text, gather explore orbs and move on. The ambient music feels like we are running an ancient computer, you know the ones that make that brrr sound when it's working so hard to compute the graphics.

Now my theory is that something happened, most likely a plane crash in the forest. I believe that we are pilot that crashed the plane because near the end the mapfriend says things like "I'm just the co-pilot," and "it should have been you." I feel like the pilot is looking up information on the aftermath and stumbled upon this sentient map finder to make him relive his past. Either way it was a fun playthrough!

This is an incredible concept and I have no idea how you even went about making this, this is nothing short of a gem of a game. If you ever expanded it I would be ALL over it!

I like your video!

thank you!

This game has a great concept. It reminds me of the old google maps creepy pastas back in the day. I don’t know if this is a demo/PT, however it’s an amazing game and I hope more comes out of the story this game portrayed.

Please, check out my video of me getting spooked with some funny moments in between. Thank you in advance! ❤️

Stay safe and be responsible ❤️

When I click on 12 westwater view it doesn't give me an explore orb, is this supposed to happen?

There is a lot of scary and wierd stuff on google maps, cool to see a game about that ->

Very interesting concept you have going here. I really like what you have going here. I really wish the mapfriend would look a bit more creepier the closer to the end you got. Beyond that, nice job.

Here's my channel for other games I have played. https://www.youtube.com/@Levont

Such a cool concept. I'd love to see more done with this idea, maybe even mini horror stories pieced together through browsing MapFriend. Fantastic atmosphere, really fleshed out design, and just the right amount of mystery. I really enjoyed this, great work!

this was a really cool game, i haven't seen anything like this before! super creepy!

VERY cool concept for a game! Thanks for the experience!

how do you even get started with making something like this

It was very unique and it worked out pretty neat as well, I liked it, good work :)

so i really enjoyed this i thought it was something unique and different and that kind of technology horror is such a cool concept to use, i wish it was abit longer like i think this could of been dragged out with more dialog and lore but for what it was i enjoyed it. gameplay above hope you guys enjoy

Wonderful concept, giving that paperclip a run for his money!

love it thank you

Great game.

i can't fucking download it, it's so annoying

So well done with such a unique aspect and theme for a game! The level of immersion is out of this world as it leaves the player wondering what disturbing secrets they will find next!

this kind of games REALLY get me scared a lot. I loved the atmosphere and the gameplay, it's really original :)

This was pretty solid. Definitely love the gameplay how it is like google maps. Made a video on it.

Awesome game! Very unique and creepy vibe/atmosphere. Would definitely play a longer version.

Really nice and atmospheric game.

Just a heads up for the dev. Windows Defender doesn't let you open this without manually allowing it. Basically, it's flagged as suspicious.

I've had that happen for a number of games off itch.io.

I suppose that's better than kids being able to run something called "Friday Night Funkin Mod Not A Virus Real.exe" without any intervention. Though Itch.io should really help vouch for some of these games.

my laptop won't allow me to do anything with it... at all

Good use of nostalgia. 10/10 would play a longer version of this game.

A very interesting premise! Very cool :)

I love the sound and consept! Also it is executed very well here with the old computer sounds and interface! gg dev!

the ending for real freaked me out. Good game!

Really good, definitely had an unsettling atmosphere

I need this to become a full game

No-commentary playthrough:

Very cool concept for a game. I'd love to see another like this in the future. Something a bit longer and maybe with some riddles to figure out. I think it's the perfect format to really take players down a rabbit hole and have them on the edge of their seats by the end of the experience. Great work and good luck with what's next!

This concept is great and has a lot of further potential.

Just a heads up, Windows Defender labels this a trojan and won't let me do anything with it.

This is a great little game! I've never played anything like it I don't think. It's creepy and there's a supernatural undertone to the whole thing that eventually becomes more psychological. In the end, I'm not entirely sure if I was able to figure the story out or not but I think I understand the general plot points. I get the feeling that there's a lot more to the story but it could also be a very direct reference.

The coordinates at the end are '12°05'20 N 104°09'5 E' and they lead to the alleged missing flight MH370. It's very interesting but I do wonder if there's more to this than that or if it's just a reference like I stated earlier.

In any case, this was great!

Thanks for making games!

My game shut down at the plane scene (twice). Is this normal ?

Happened to me too, so I guess it's normal

This was really fun! Streamed it and had a blast with my boyfriend, I'd love more of this

I'm curious what places you used for the maps! Pretty good game though, really nice atmosphere
