Omg I loved this, I've always wanted a typewriter even if it clearly isn't that practical, but anyways here's my badly written fanfic about a genderqueer Tamaki.
That is because typewriters used to utilize the letter [ I ] or [ l ] as one and if they felt fancy they would backspace and tap [ ' ] to make it look a tad closer to 1, if they wanted to really get fancy they would backspace scroll the paper up a bit and hit [ , ] to really make it look like 1.
As for 0 they utilized a O or o if they wanted to be fancy they'd go back one and hit / to clarify that it was indeed a zero.
