Awesome game, for me it's easy to like a VHS based game because i'm a movie collector but this game was also just fun ! (i give a more elaborate opinion after the gameplay at the end of the video)
A big thank you for letting me play this game and show it on my channel for others to see. I enjoyed playing this and how unique it is in its style. I hope to see more from you as a creator, even using this style again just with some added things. keep it up.
The tape was filmed in front of shops where you buy stuff, also they were talking about the sales of cigarettes or something. And because that's just how clocks work. I got stuck on both of these too but it makes sense in the end.
Pros and cons are down below) Check out the game here:
Advantages:
1. I like how you created this VHS feeling while watching the footage.Very well done!
2. I like the sense of suspense. You know that something is wrong but just can't tell what until the very end.
3. I also like the depth of the room, nicely done!
Disadvantages:
1. I would really love to see a spook at the end. Maybe a person in the hallway that you could barely see from your point of view.
2. Maybe it would be nice to change phone mechanics. Player can unintentionally hang up just by clicking the phone. I did it but I clicked thinking that this would continue the dialogue.
Overall:
Enjoyed the game quite a lot. For me something was missing though. Couldn't keep my attention at the vids. It would be nice to see a bit more action or mystery. For me it's 4/5. Still, I see that the game has lots of potential.
My second round of playing games for the Haunted PS1 Wretched weekend and I started with this one. This was such an awesome experience. I'm ashamed to admit that it took me way longer than it probably should have to solve the poster code, but that's all on me, this game is amazing.
Check other games in the wretched weekend, found two codes so far: BEHOLD: aHR0cHM6Ly The Graveyard Shift: nL3dpa2kvU2 Possible third in Frontier Diver: 9TYXR1cm4= Vestigial: aHR0cHM6Ly, but that's just the http:/ again. Ashimeyama: aHR0cHM6Ly again.
Help from PedroStormrage in r/ARG: Oh, good job! If you concatenate the last two codes superimposing the matching characters (U2VnYV9TYXR1cm4=) and then decode it using base 64, you get Sega_Saturn (which was the only I could think of after seeing "Sega_S" being the meaning of the second code)! I'm still not sure how that's meaningful, though.
I also tried to concatenate the first code (nL3dpa2kvU2) to the others in the same fashion (nL3dpa2kvU2VnYV9TYXR1cm4=), but didn't get anything meaningful out of it.
If you remove the first n from nL3dpa2kvU2VnYV9TYXR1cm4=, you get /wiki/Sega_Saturn.
Alright, I found this
in Smalls Island Woes, but those letters do nothing in imgur.
There's also one from A Structure of Unknown Origin at Little Pine State Park: aWtpcGVkaW , which is ikipedi in Base64.
So maybe it's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_Saturn, but I haven't found a code that for sure says it's the English version. No Players Online's dev apparently hid a real note in the woods in Belgium. Gonna keep looking.
hey! i got in contact with the Smalls Island Woes devs and they said the imgur link IS still functioning, although i havent been able to find a way to make it work myself lol. hope this helps:
Is this already solved? I'm currently trying every possible B V D and P in that sequence since that dude's so hard to hear. Just wondering if I'm wasting my time
31:56 The QR code (U2VnYV9ty) means "Sega_S" in Base 64 (maybe "Sega_Saturn"?). You can see two sets of letters ("ZES ALS OP" and "F Q CPAKN G/A b") starting from 31:28, and that might be the remaining of the code. They both have a "hangman" beside them, which could mean some letters of the code need to be discarded. There's also the fact that the guy wanting the tapes was Dutch, and part of the second code ("ZES ALS OP") translates to "six as/if on/up" in Dutch (which could be a clue).
It's amazing how much atmosphere you infused in this one basement room. The UI felt great to use, and the menu elements all looked gorgeous. Great use of footage from the Internet Archive as well. It really brought back the experience of getting bits of old video interspersed with the content that you recorded over it with when you were trying to watch that movie you taped off of the TV.
Hey guys, awesome work I really enjoyed the game! In retrospect I got confused with who was on the phone. Also, couldn't get the QR code to work. All the same, the art style and the puzzle were phenomenal. I made a video of my playthrough, enjoy!
Great concept and very creepy atmopshere in this game. I think the puzzle was a bit confusing and I guessed the last part of it. Also curious about what the QR code is supposed to lead us to. I loved the 'cheater' ending as well. Well done and hope to see more from you :)
I’m a big fan of trying to figure things out. Games where examining an object has a purpose is extremely satisfying. The atmosphere and era is perfect for this style of game. If you’re a fan of games that are a little different, give this a try.
I loved the overall atmosphere of this game and the mystery to solve was really quite cool, challenging, and was so cool to finally get down! Great work on this one!
When I first started this I wasnt sure I was going to like it...by the end I found myself really digging it! I think the end is bugged but overall I had a blast!
Cool game. Did i figure out the meaning of the code? lol.
-edit: also, really strange thing, but there was a certain part in this game that would set off my google home mini. It did it the first time I played it, then continued to do it every time I got to the same part while editing. It scared the crap out of me each time, because out of no where my google device would say something random. At one point it actually asked me if I was okay. Not even kidding. Very weird and thought I should make a note of that here... haha.
So I just replayed it.. pretty sure the guy says "the issue is so powerful".. and right after my google home mini (just now) said "I think I'm yours"... mind boggling... lol
Hey thanks for checking it out! I hadn't hear of Not For Broadcast, it sounds really cool. It was really fun to see you jot down notes while playing :)
Very spooky and immersive experience! I had an issue with the "select tape" button not appearing for a certain tape the first run through. Also I was unable to scan a certain image, even after taking a screenshot and adjusting brightness values.

love it :D
It’s a cool little puzzle. Didn’t take me too long to complete but enjoyed the time I spent with it. Would love to see the concept expanded on.
Thank you :)
Great Game! Very mysterious and interesting!

This game is insanely cool, but confused me so much at the end! I loved this though, the style and gameplay elements felt very solid and unique.

two questions: where was the dollar sign in video 3? why does it matter whether i go clockwise instead of counterclockwise?

Hi, this is the best game I play in a long time... Look my gameplay in Spanish and share if you like.
Amazing vaporwave vibes, atmosphere, critical thinking, and psychological horror.

I enjoyed the dark obscurity, but the "secret ending" got me wanting more. What secrets are you holding?!?!
Interesting game, very unique... And there are two endings, apparently haha... The second one is very funny :)
Very cool. Took me a bit to figure out but I sort of got there :)
Really really enjoyed this game. Pretty unique mechanics. Cheers!

not to my knowledge. i tried again today but i only tried the 32 variations accounting for B/P and M/N mixups
I just got it finally https://imgur.com/a/UbnhBPK
Nice, I was trying UblhBBK!
I made a tierlist for a lot of the haunted ps1 games and this game was in it! Please check out my video!
fuck off
I have scanned the QR code and... 920017224278... Can you access the phone? Is it the phone number or something?
Has anyone figured out the code? Not the code on the "poster" but the one of the scan.
I found this in the comment section of Jacksepticeye's YouTube channel who played this game... Might be useful and all credit goes to that person.

Crazy how such a "simple" game can have such a depth of near absolute mystery surrounding one image lol Thank you though!!!
Like and comment if you wanna see a game jam tierlist!
Is the game finished and needs no more updates?
It's finished, no updates are planned.
Apart from being unable to access the QR code I really enjoyed playing this one :)

hi, big thx for the nice game. greetings from rosti

Unfortunately I couldn't properly scan the QR code, but overall this was a delightful and unique experience.
I had to scan it with the phone far away from the screen but the scan only gave me a code I had no idea what to do with it.
Is the game finished and needs no more updates?
hi again! i played no players online not too long ago and wanted to share my recording of this game. thanks for giving me the creeps twice in a row!
cheers!

Gahhh the codes and secrets! They will be the end of me....
Ah thanks for playing!! Woops, gotta fix that bug haha. When did you download the game if you don't mind me asking?
Could've been the earliest version when the store page here first came up.
Great game. Though, still mysterious... what is the code for....
Hey thanks for checking it out! I hadn't hear of Not For Broadcast, it sounds really cool. It was really fun to see you jot down notes while playing :)
Ah, sorry for assuming! And this was a fantastic experience.
watch as I grow insane while seeking out the remaining codes... 2 others found so far (in two games the same one appeared -_-)....
Very spooky and immersive experience! I had an issue with the "select tape" button not appearing for a certain tape the first run through. Also I was unable to scan a certain image, even after taking a screenshot and adjusting brightness values.
I had this issue with the select tape button not appearing as well. I thought the game was great btw.
