Fun fact: The image we see at the end of the game is an actual image you can find on google maps/earth. Back in 2018, a reddit user found a crashed plane in the middle of the cambodian jungle (12°05'20"N 104°09'05"E coordinates if you wanna see it for yourself) while scouring google earth and was claiming that it was the missing malaysia airlines flight 370 plane that went missing back in 2014. from what i remember, it was never confirmed if it was actually flight 370 or just a random plane in the middle of the jungle but its still really cool to see.
This game has so much potential. I really enjoyed the bits that we got to see so far, and only hope that you continue adding spooky, horrific things to this alternate reality google maps. I really loved this experience, wildly uncomfortable, it had that perfect retro vibe, and I really just want more from this universe. Are there plans for more?
so i really enjoyed this i thought it was something unique and different and that kind of technology horror is such a cool concept to use, i wish it was abit longer like i think this could of been dragged out with more dialog and lore but for what it was i enjoyed it. gameplay above hope you guys enjoy
I would absolutely love to see this idea expanded on! Maybe even introduce a creepy figure that appears at some of the locations when searching around for the marker. Very well done game, and can't see what you do with it next! Check the playthrough below!
This Game had A Concept I've Never Seen before! The Dark Turn on Google maps Was Awesome And Amazingly Done The Atmosphere Was Terrifying Especially At The End! Cryptic Story Telling And Didn't Rely On Jump scares? 10/10 In My Book! Cant Wait to See What You Do Next! ~Wang
I think I spent more time trying to play beat-the-clock and read everything to understand the backstory than necessary, so much that it distracted me from being scared....The plot or mystery is usually what makes up a huge majority of the creepy factor. I'm sorry. Q.Q I like it if the text gets glitchy, but when it vanishes the second it appears before I can even read three words from it, it leaves zero mystery and instead a ton of confusion. It really wasn't the feeling I was expecting to get from this....and it really did look so promising. Am I doing something wrong....? Or is it supposed to be this way?
Just played it and I had a similar issue with trying to figure out what happened by reading the text in the places and the game taking that interest of mine and disregarding it somehow.
This game has a great concept. It reminds me of the old google maps creepy pastas back in the day. I don’t know if this is a demo/PT, however it’s an amazing game and I hope more comes out of the story this game portrayed. Please, check out my video of me getting spooked with some funny moments in between. Thank you in advance! ❤️
OH WOW another youtube video I guess i'll just leave it here and hope no one gets curious and clicks it! 👀 LOL all jokes aside PaperCookies I really think you should ADD some jumpscares to this i mean that would do tremendously well considering its good already. The ambience was already making me paranoid to begin with so with a few jumpscares and a short storyline connecting the different locations that would be awesome.
PS: I had to edit out the 15 minutes it took me to find the pin in the water LMAO I didn't think it was possible to get over there!
wow! that was an extremely unique take on a horror game. I love the low poly setting. That always tends to make me feel unsettled in a way. Please build on this concept. I'd love to see more.
This was a really cool game. The atmosphere was set up so well. Definitely felt the eeriness the more I played. Everything leading up to the ending was great! The ending was a bit too short for me. Other than that I had fun playing your game! Good Job!
Papercookies seems to always put out top tier horror experiences, and this latest game is no exception. The concept is unique which seems to be a common thing they do with every game they put out, and the execution is amazing. Well done!

I love the idea of a GoogleMaps styled horror game and haven’t seen a similar game yet! Concept can open to puzzles and creepy atmosphere!
Really enjoyed playing and was on edge most of the time!
It was unsettling and always expected something to be lurking while I was exploring, hated the ocean part, did not want to explore too much there!
Very well done!
This was very original!

Super cool and scary 10/10
This was such a fun experience! It was really well designed, and the scares were so well timed and done! Great job!
Great short horror game.
windows defender gave me a warning, should i still run it?
Windows defender always warns about game maker games. Should be fine to run, since its also been promoted by itchio themselves.
The ending made me very uneasy... Great job!
